Acne is a skin condition which usually causes pimples and inflammation on the face, neck and back. It occurs when pores become clogged with oil, dirt and bacteria, creating a blockage. The blockage then forms as a whitehead, blackhead, swollen bump or painful cyst.

There are two types of acne – non-inflammatory acne (which usually appears as whiteheads or blackheads) and inflammatory acne (which can lead to skin eruptions and pimples, like papules, pustules, nodules and cysts).

Acne can be triggered by hormonal changes relating to puberty, menstrual periods, pregnancy, birth control pills, stress, oily cosmetics and hair products, certain pharmaceutical drugs, high levels of humidity and sweating.

It is common in teenagers, but even babies and adults can suffer from acne.

Treatment

Daily Treatment

We recommend the following treatment steps.

1. Face Cleanser

Deep cleansing and non-irritant to sensitive skin

2. Toning & Astringent Lotion

Stimulates the tightening of the skin and shrinking of enlarged pores

3. Non-Stimulating Day Moisturiser

A non-stimulating treatment for congestive or oily skin, reduces lose of skin moisture

Weekly Treatment (more frequently if required).

Scrubs

• Facial Scrub: Only use once a week or once every two weeks. This is an exfoliating treatment used to deep  cleanse and stimulate the skin by removing any impurities. This treatment should be done regularly, according to skin type.

 

Facial masks

• Anti Acne Mask: Ideal for teenagers with overactive skin conditions.
• Cuts & Bruises Cream:  Can be used as a mask to reduce redness in skin and scarring.
