They fought for freedom and gave their lives so that we may enjoy ours. November 11 is Veteran’s Day. Also known as Armistice Day, it is traditionally used to mark the end of World War I and commemorate the soldiers who died defending their countries.
At the eleventh hour on the eleventh day of the eleventh month, fighting ceased in World War I. This historic moment is commemorated annually with a moment of silence in New Zealand. It was supposed to be the “War to End All Wars”. Unfortunately this wasn’t to be, and millions more brave soldiers have since made the ultimate sacrifice.
