About Us

Thousands of years ago, Australia's Aborigines learned to prize the native Melaleuca tree. They found by pressing its leaves, and oil with a remarkable ability to heal, sooth and disinfect was obtained.

The therapeutic properties of Tea Tree Oil were first documented in the 1920's. After the Second World War however, with the development of antibiotics and synthetic antiseptics, natural substances like tea tree oil were 'old fashioned' and natural oils such as tea tree, all but disappeared from medicine cabinets and first aid kits.

But in recent times, there has been a worldwide swing back to natural products as people increasingly demand natural products in preference to petro-chemical based synthetic derivatives and so called pseudo-natural products. The health benefits of the Australian tea tree are rapidly gaining recognition around the world with the demand for this oil growing year by year. From the days of the 'bush-cutters' with very little annual oil production, larger commercial organizations and farming methods have been developed in Australia in order to meet the growing demand for the oil which is expected to grow from 200 tons a year (1996) to over 7,000 tons in the early 2000's.

Tea Tree Manor, a New Zealand based grower of the Australian Tea Tree plant is proud to be part of the growing natural health and products renaissance and continues to develop an ever increasing range of Tea Tree Oil based products for personal, household and commercial use.

All Tea Tree Manor products are made to exacting standards of purity and quality and of cause animal testing methods are not employed at any stage of the development or production of our products. The Manor operates sustainable programmes in order to avoid any form of environmental degradation and recycles all used tree crops through a rotational composting programme.

Each product's tea tree oil content is matched to its particular purposes. Other appropriate essential oils and extracts are blended with the tea tree oil to maximise the products effectiveness in their different roles.
